I’ve always had a passion for children’s literature that told about faraway places and magical worlds. These treasures were my lifeboat when I was young. Immersed in a book, I felt I was soaring through lands where anything was possible. So, I decided to write my own.
And my inner jackal began nipping at my heels. Saying, “you’ve never written a children’s book before, what makes you think you can?” Or the one that remembers all the times a teacher returned my assignments with what was “wrong” without encouragement.
Do you know what it’s like to hear the jackal inside you? The one’s who says you’re not good enough, don’t know enough, aren’t capable?
We each have an inner jackal nipping at our heels trying to keep us from evolving into the amazing beings we truly are.
Whenever my jackal arose, I looked it in the eye and said, “it’s okay, I love this story more than I fear your judgment beloved jackal.” So, I wrote and wrote and asked for feedback and wrote some more. Through love and action, I’m healing my inner jackal.
My book, Not So Little Cora is now in the hands of a superb writer, editor and dear friend Will Wilkinson, who is lovingly honing my story to make it sing.
There is a lot of yelling going on around us these days. It’s in the media, it’s on Facebook, and maybe it’s even in your family. Sometimes it’s hard to separate the clear sound of truth in the midst of all the yelling.
The first step in gaining clarity is to notice the truth and reality of all the people wanting your attention and wanting to control you.
Yes control you.
Separating from the demands of others restores sovereignty and your sacred self and can give you the clarity and understanding you need to chart your own course that is your hearts desire.
If you notice the demands on your attention, the yelling around you, you are on your way to re-empowering your truth meter.
You can cure feeling demanded on by putting things in slow motion. That way you can tell what’s right or wrong for you.
Remember- Awareness is curative.
We’d like to know… Who has been yelling for your attention? Who is trying to control you? A family member? A political party? How are you gaining clarity in the midst of this? Please let us know in the comments section below.
Do you ever hear yourself saying or thinking “hey wait a minute what did I just say?”
It’s easy to keep going and miss a critical moment of clarity that wants to come home inside you so your wisdom can grow. Next time you hear or feel yourself say something juicy, stop and review your immediate experience of whom you’re with and ask yourself what am I really understanding.
Just asking that question will radically change how you live yourself. Wondering like that is a curiosity activator that will grow your wisdom and give you the power to change the course of your life. After all, they are your bits of wisdom wanting you to notice.
Curiosity is our friend and teacher. It is the first step in receiving our own wisdom.
The World of a Medical Intuitive- Radio Interview with David MacKenzie
We met Dr. Emmett Miller and his wife Sandy in San Miguel de Allende Mexico a few months ago. What we liked about them was that they were each dedicated to self-healing, wellness, success, and global transformation.
And to our surprise, we didn’t know that Emmett had a radio program. He interviewed David on his show Conversations with Extraordinary People.
David talks about his background and valuable lessons we have learned from all those we’ve worked with.
Back in the old days of longer hair and patchouli oil a ‘trip’ was what happened when someone took some form of hallucinogenic drug. Sometimes people really changed. They understood their spirit in a new way. Other times they were just entertaining or distracting themselves.
Sometimes the word ‘trip’ is used to describe going from one place to another. We want to get there quickly on the super highway. Other times it can be a little slower but we still want to “get there’ just the same.
We wanted to share the launch of a project dear to our hearts that we filmed here in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Many of you know that we have a history as filmmakers and produce what we call Media as Medicine as part of Wisdom Rx.
When we moved to Mexico, we signed up for Spanish lessons with Warren Hardy who’s been teaching Spanish here for almost 30 years. He is a master educator deeply steeped in the cultural differences between Mexico and The United States. Partway into our first class he gave a lecture on “How to Have Good Relations with Mexicans.” We were not only thoroughly impressed with the content but also with Warren’s wonderful capacity to deliver the message.
