What’s In The Way of Your Joy?

What’s in the Way of Your Joy?

This may seem like an odd question in this season that emphasizes joy. But perhaps you’ve noticed that in the midst of a party, a family gathering or even a firework’s display that something inside you puts a limit on the amount of joy you experience.

As younger beings we were often told to put a lid on our joyful expression.

This early limiter on our unfettered joy, our true exuberant expression allowed us to get along with others in a multitude of environments. And at the same time limited our natural born joy.

We’ve been taught to behave or adhere to a set of cultural rules to fit into our surroundings, whether it was our families, school, community or the culture at work.

There is a pervasive belief that to function successfully, the full joyful soulful expression that is ours is not acceptable.

As we age/mature- we learn to put our natural sense of joy through a lot of filters based on years of these habits and beliefs. When we stop our joy, we put ourselves back in the box of our limitations; the habits of depressing and suppression where we can make ourselves sick.

We can have thoughts like,

“Oh, maybe I shouldn’t have done that, what would other’s think,”

or…

“Everyone around me seems kind of subdued, I need to keep quiet.”

When we become aware of the joy limiters, we can liberate them. If we notice and feel the tiniest tremors of joy- will make them stronger and make us healthier.

JOY is energizing when we really let go into it. Holding it back drains us of vital life force.  What we all need right now is more JOY, and for all of us to stop putting a limiter on it.

How are you limiting Joy?

What are you willing to do to be more joyful and spread joy?

We’d love to hear from you.  Please share your comments below.

Help Bring Not So Little Cora to the World

Help Bring Not So Little Cora to the World

There is something in each of us that is bursting at the seams.

It can’t wait to come out and play in the world.

As some of you know, I was inspired, some would say ‘called’, to write Not So Little Cora, a children’s book for adults too. The journey of writing this is something that I think we all can relate to. I had to face into and make peace with all the dark jackals that wanted to talk me out of manifesting what my heart was calling me to create.

This is a time in the world when each of us is being called to live joyously and wildly. We are all are being inspired to arise. In creating this book, I wanted to give children and adults the remembrance of what it’s like to live unfettered through love connected to the ALL of Life.

As Cora’s friend Marco says,

“Love is bigger than Big and knows just what to do.”

What if that playful, curious, wonder-filled child in each of us had a place at the table of our lives?  I want more of that inside me.

A friend who read Not So Little Cora wrote,

“I’m sure kids will love it, but I’ll be very excited to give more than a few copies to adults too!! Not So Little Cora taught me so much. I’ll be reading it more than once. Cora awoke the kid inside me that I had to protect for so long. But now, I’m inspired to bring that inner kid out again and see life from a higher and more loving perspective!” C.P. San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

I’m writing to you because you are each part of my spiritual family, my family of love.

Today I’ve launched an IndieGogo fundraiser to help with publishing, illustrations, website, Spanish translation and marketing.

Will you help bring Not So Little Cora into the world? I’d love your help in championing the cause of creativity, innocence and love that Cora embodies.

Is This Happening To You?

Walking on Water

Is This Happening to You?

We don’t know about you, but any aspect of our lives that is not “on course” with the truth of our being, our true north is up for realignment.

Phew, we’ve felt a little overwhelmed at times.  Have you?

The depth of dying and resurrecting that is happening in and around us is a wonder to behold and sometimes frightening to be in the midst of.

So many “sacred cows” that we’ve created, or the world has created around us are falling by the wayside. When you listen to your heart of hearts, what do you need shift?

The clearer we get the longer our list gets as to the things we need to take care of to align ourselves. At the same time, we can no longer run ourselves the way we used to. No pushing or going past our energy reserves.

So, here’s what we’re learning:

    • Balance work and to do lists with the battery of joy, fun and rest
    • When something is over don’t put any more energy into it.
    • Trust that endings bring the next new life into form.
    • Begin your day in quiet meditation. Just your intention to be still allows your consciousness to really focus and possibility to flow.
    • When you feel fatigue, rest. Even a 15 minute or less “power nap” can reinvigorate you for the rest of the day.

Let yourself be open to promptings from the life around you. Grace and creativity are relentlessly present. The creativity that Life is, is always looking for ways to get our attention and work for us so that we can adjust the direction of our lives to produce greater joy and wonder. The signal of our true north continues to refine and becomes brighter and present.

What would you add to this list? We love learning with you.

Please, share your comments below.

Joy Through Integrity

Joy through Integrity

Joy Through Integrity

Have you explored what your personal living definition of integrity is?

Does the integrity you learned serve you, your family and your community?

This word is a living word. For it to work we need to keep it alive by understanding it not just taking it for granted.

To fully live in joy free from the confines that hold us back we need to align with our soulful integrity.

Choosing to live in integrity, in the essence of our greater truth, we can have self-trust because we are connected to something bigger than our conditioning. From that place of self-trust and knowing we can expand our creative capacity to live a joyful life.

In a communication with our allies/friends in love, we explored the word Integrity. Here is what they shared:

The word integrity is used often among humans to describe a fidelity of being that is generally honored. That word points to the living remembrance of that joy-filled essence that you are. Generally, people consider the word integrity to be the same as this essence. The word is simply an echo of that essence. Few engage in an inquiry of sufficient depth to actually understand what generates the word integrity.

If a person says I am integrous with the essence I am, I AM, they will begin to open a direct flow from their essence into the great truth that they are in contrast to the diminished self they think themselves to be.

The word integrity regardless of the individual lives as a crystalline form within the brain and heart of each individual. This connection to the brain and heart results in different behavioral patterns that can be perceived of as either within or outside of integrity.

Very few people understand that if they are integrous to the soul that they are they will have self-trust.

The degree to which a person can risk overcoming the environmental constraints generated within families and community that will cause the Life of integrity to expand or contract.

There is a risk inherent within the choice to grow a different version of integrity than most begin with. Changing the nature of integrity correspondingly changes a comprehension of what Will is. This is because an individual can then begin to consider their choices and the domino effect and corresponding gravity their choices make.

 Will and Choice

A willful choice produces a gravitational field that forms into structure. These structures exist within a body and are of course physicalized in the world. We desire for you all to be liberated from the extra heavy gravity that self-generated free will produces. When a person becomes integrous with their essence there is a greater capacity for love in all its forms to inform choices and change actions.

We honor and appreciate that each soul who incarnates on earth becomes a catalytic agent for the healing of free will into sacred will and they can become an expression of the integrous flow of soulful knowing that at their essence they truly are.

One of the songs that plays in the gym is Pharrell Williams song Happy.

Pharrell Williams – Happy (Official Music Video) – YouTube

Every time we hear this song it makes us smile, even as we are doing the last series of crunches that we didn’t know we could do but Ramiro knew. 🙂

Choosing happiness even in the midst of day to today challenges is a reflex muscle we can all learn to strengthen just like we do our physical bodies.

So Choose something that makes you feel happy. Like listening to Pharrell Williams song Happy or taking a break and soaking up sunshine

Remembering the Adventure of Life

We were not born to live a mundane existence.
The essence of who we are – pure, clear and strong is life itself.
There is a pressure that comes from the world around us, sometimes even a demand that demands our surrender into a humdrum day-to-day way of being.

When we say yes to that demand, something inside at the heart of our being knows we are stepping out of the rich passionate flow of our life into an ordinariness that may be convenient but costly to our hearts.
