An Honest Review of 2019

AN Honest review of 2019

Our hearts say it’s time for strong medicine- for truth telling.

In the midst of parties, vacations and gatherings of friends and/or family, do you have a nagging feeling that one more year has gone by and your deepest desires, hopes and dreams are still unfulfilled?

We know this may seem like a downer in the midst of what is supposed to be an upbeat time. But the end of the year is also a time of reflection and once again setting new intentions.

And, is there still a part of you that is feeling you might fail once again?

Looking back over the year is there….

  • Something you really wanted to achieve that you haven’t accomplished?
  • A problem that still exists that you haven’t resolved?
  • A relationship that hasn’t improved, it in fact feels more distant, even the one you have with the divine, god, source etc.?
  • A negative way of thinking or feeling that you just can’t seem to get past?

The new year is just around the corner.
Wouldn’t you like to….

  • Feel thrilled that you accomplished even more than you set out to?
  • Once and for all leave behind the nagging issues that are plaguing you?
  • Know that you have relationships that feel authentic and supportive?
  • Stop recreating the same negative emotions that keep you stuck in the past?

This is the time on the planet where change is absolutely necessary.
We are not being grandiose, we are being honest.

Do you want to continue to feel sick and tired of feeling hamstrung or stuck never fully feeling like you’re thriving? Sure, you can sit back and stay in your supposed comfort zone and keep getting by, still feeling less than optimal and disconnected from your heart….  or YOU can step into the life you desire deep inside.

This line from a show we watched recently seems a perfect fit. “If you focus on protecting your heart you can avoid a lot of pain, but you can also end up living half a life.”

What kind of Life do you want to live in 2020?
Please share with us Below what’s stuck and in the way of you being the best you in 2020 so we can support you.

And if you’re a woman on our list and would like to clarify what’s in the way of your dreams and set a new course for your new year, please schedule a call here.

Blessing- A Pause That Refreshes 1.2.19

A Pause that Refreshes

What if you stopped all the things that you think you should do?

Some things require completion.

Some things can have a rest.

Now is the time to reassess how you are spending your life.

Are you using your daily dose of aliveness to do the same old thing?

Or are you shifting and growing and leaving behind what’s over.

Prayerfully ask yourself,

Is this really for my highest good?

Is this something I need to complete today?

Am I doing something that I really believe in?

Bless yourself with a pause that refreshes your life.

Taking personal control of how you are spending your time frees you from

the demands from others on the time of your life.

Love,  Susan and David

Are You In Integrity with Your True Self?

Are you in Integrity

Are you in Integrity with Your True Self?

David explores in the following video the importance of not living by autopilot but from a clear sense of integrity. Are you in integrity with your sacred soul self? Our beliefs often create a barrier to being in our own true integrity. Things happen in our lives that can influence how we think about ourselves.

  • “Oh I didn’t get that job I must not worthy”
  • “I’m a woman, I don’t stand a chance.”
  • “My teachers told me I’m stupid so that must be true.”

These are all examples of outside influences that if we believe can keep us from shining the light of our own greatness. We act from those beliefs in ways that aren’t integrous to our true knowing of who we are as human beings.

Here’s a reframe for a more integrous approach for us to the three examples:

  • My Job doesn’t define me, I define my own self-worth.
  • I may be a woman but I am a human being first with gifts just like everyone else.
  • Having questions or not knowing are fundamental to learning.

But how do we know if we are in Integrity if we haven’t defined what that means to us?

How can we understand when someone else is standing up in their own integrity if we don’t have our own definition?

As human beings, we need to know our own integrity to let the light of our true self shine. We believe the world could use a little more light right now.

What Kind of Story are You Running?

When I, Susan, was in 7th grade, I was sitting in social studies class not really paying attention when a thought went through me like a lightning bolt. Suddenly, I realized that not everyone thought like I did. This may seem obvious to many but at that moment I was really glad I was sitting down for my world seemed quite different.

Flash forward to two weeks ago and almost half a century later. I was walking with our construction manager Manny between our house and another he was now working on in the neighborhood. Manny was fixing a leak in our fountain and on his way back to building walls at the other.

I asked him if he enjoyed having a break from the labor-intensive work at our neighbor’s while working on our fountain.

He looked at me blankly as if I was speaking a foreign language. (Actually, I was speaking Spanish at the time). He said, “Work is work.” I realized then and there that I was running a story based on my perspective that labor requiring greater physical exertion was harder for me and that it must be for him too.

Stories are movies we run in our minds that can wake us up or keep us asleep.

I’m still learning to notice when I make assumptions or judgments because of the story I’m running that keeps me asleep. It may be a lifelong series of lessons.  And Manny in his wisdom gave me the opportunity to notice the story I was running.

Have you recognized a story you were running lately?

We’d love to hear from you. Please share your thoughts or stories below.

Independence- The Achy Dark Side

Tools for Thriving 2016

The Achy Dark Side of Independence

We’re trained to think of ourselves as independent maybe even “rugged individuals”. We can do it on our own.

The positive aspect of our independence is that we can empower choices to break free from situations, people and environments that are binding us into a smallness that’s hard on our hearts. In millions of ways, the dominant culture all around us encourages the idea of our independent separateness.

Think of the models of heroines and heroes that you know. They all chose to bring forth change from a position of independent knowing. They acted on what they felt they must for the benefit of many. This is the upside of choices made from a place of individual, independent being. After all, no one wants to be a slave to anything.

And yet, what is the actual source of their heroic energy?

The source is their sacred union with the vast divine (or God, Yahweh, Spirit, the Sacred, Oneness, the Christ, the Quantum Field, you pick) that we are and surrounds us right now.

The achy dark side of independence is when we think we can do it on our own and separate ourselves from Source. It points to a greater wisdom that keeps calling us to sacred unity and wholeness.

…And yet we resist.

Resistance comes from the conflict inside us between the knowing we are part of something more vast and our conditioned ideas of “I am a strong independent person who can choose on their own.”

How do we eradicate this separation from source?

We first admit our willful separateness.  This begins the instantaneous alteration of our habits of thinking embedded in our minds and the miles of nervous system that run through our bodies.

Once you become conscious of this achy dark side of independence, you can be welcomed like the prodigal son or daughter coming to the home we all long to find and experience again.

Why is this so important?

When we live from a place of independence- “My Will” not “Thy Will” we cut ourselves off from a treasure chest of dynamic wisdom that can revolutionize every moment of our lives.

Reunion with our wholeness, our sacred union with the vast divine is required for transformative healing. The choice to reunite, to give up independent willfulness, produces an atomic delightful alteration of our total body.

Do not look away from the need to surrender your sense of independence. By Nature we are interdependent with one another and all of the life that surrounds us.

You can allow greater access, greater love too flow towards you by bringing down your boundaries of individualism. Every human builds boundaries. It is part of the history of false independence. And no human makes it on their own.

Look back in your life and cross-reference everything you’ve planned or visioned in contrast to what the pure serendipity your life has brought you. Like us, you will find that choices made outside of all your “good plans” are what have brought joy, passion and an abundance of life. That history can remind you of a greater love that calls you to sacred reunion and that it’s okay to let go of independent and will-full behavior and thinking.

You know there is a home fire burning for you. The door is open and embracing love awaits your surrender and joyful reunion.

Susan and David

Reprogramming Understanding

Reprogramming Understanding

Understanding in its purest form is a liberating energy. We’ve been trained to experience understanding in ways that keep us living in the comforts of habits that rub us raw.

Isn’t that amazing that our understanding can become conditioned to keep us boxed in.

We are designed to be ever expanding our comprehension of what life is and what we truly are. Some of the outrageous things that are happening in the world around us can be used to break us free from our self-limiting definition of understanding into a liberated life changing relationship to the sacredness of the word.

Understanding is the bridge that our wisdom flows across.

Each of us has a wisdom bank waiting to be turned on in a greater way. We can bring forth a brightness so that we can see, feel and know in new ways what is going on around us and within us.

We even know where the on switch is for our luminous wisdom. Why would we not always turn that switch on?

Once turned on the Light we are will show us what is too small to live in and what wide open path is calling us. Change will naturally occur as we claim freedom, true freedom in ever-greater ways.

Sometimes we keep the light of our wisdom turned off so we can maintain old-fashioned comforts that are in fact worn out and wearing us out. Understanding in ever-new ways keeps us fresh and enables the true nutrition of our wisdom to come present in our bodies and minds.

Today notice how many times you think the word ‘understanding’ or say, “I Understand”.

Ask yourself, am I understanding in new ways or old ways.

Notice what new actions are called for and where your heart is moved to go.

Allow your habits of understanding to become refreshed and updated to ‘Now’.

Keep the word understanding alive, not a habit that shrinks you.

The gift is that you will leave behind what has confined you. We invite you to risk who you think you are, who you think you understand yourself to be and the light of your wisdom will grow you as never before.

Thanks for journeying with us.
