Healing My Inner Jackal

Healing My Inner Jackal

I’ve always had a passion for children’s literature that told about faraway places and magical worlds. These treasures were my lifeboat when I was young. Immersed in a book, I felt I was soaring through lands where anything was possible.  So, I decided to write my own.

And my inner jackal began nipping at my heels.  Saying, “you’ve never written a children’s book before, what makes you think you can?” Or the one that remembers all the times a teacher returned my assignments with what was “wrong” without encouragement.

Do you know what it’s like to hear the jackal inside you?  The one’s who says you’re not good enough, don’t know enough, aren’t capable?

We each have an inner jackal nipping at our heels trying to keep us from evolving into the amazing beings we truly are.

Whenever my jackal arose, I looked it in the eye and said, “it’s okay, I love this story more than I fear your judgment beloved jackal.”  So, I wrote and wrote and asked for feedback and wrote some more.  Through love and action, I’m healing my inner jackal.

My book, Not So Little Cora is now in the hands of a superb writer, editor and dear friend Will Wilkinson, who is lovingly honing my story to make it sing.

Will has a new book called, Now or Never: A Time Traveler’s Guide to Personal and Global Transformation. I hope you’ll read it, for we share the same intention- to help create a thriving future for our children.
I’ve spent my lifetime preparing for now.  Each of us has.  We are all at a precipice where we can either rest in the status quo of our lives or courageously risk living our true heart’s desire.
As a dear friend of David’s said to him, “what have you got to lose?”

He answered, “nothing.” And the actions he took completely changed his life.

I’ll let you know when Not So Little Cora is available. She’s a wise little being who loves life and hasn’t lost connection with her inborn spirit.

We’d love to hear your response.
