SOUL FOOD PILGRIMAGE

We’re back from our soul nourishing pilgrimage to England and Scotland! The trip was a profound evolution for us.

We now understand that everyone’s life is a pilgrimage and we each need soulful nourishment — Soul food —  to thrive.

One aspect of Soul food comes from sacred places where people have been pilgrims for a long time. We traveled to places in England and Scotland where people have been pilgrims for thousands of years.

The trains carried us from London to Cornwall to Iona in the north. And friends old and new nourished our hearts.

We have all done amazing personal work to transform ourselves. And we knew that in ourselves and for those we work with that something was missing.

Have you noticed that no matter how much personal work you’ve done that there is an underlying hunger for something more?

Defining what our souls need to stay strong and well-nourished is what Wisdom Rx will be focusing on in the coming months. We each have a unique recipe for the soul food that will keep us truly connected to source, so that we don’t have to be starving in the journey of our lives.

Please share your thoughts with us below.

The Heart and Mind of Pilgrimage

Heart and Mind of Pilfgrimage

The Heart and Mind of Pilgrimage

We are weeks away from physically starting our pilgrimage in England. However, the pilgrimage has begun.  We are already shedding some old ways of being because we have committed to step on those ancient trails.

Even though these old ways of thinking and acting have clearly exhausted their value, it’s surprising to notice our curious attachment to keeping them. On the other side of these attachments, fresh new life is emerging.

There are seeds of newness in all of us, just itching to bloom and grow themselves into the necessary aliveness we need to feel a sense of thriving. There is a great joy in thriving that’s very different from plain old fashioned good habits that can keep us locked into ways of being that cramp our lives.

All of us can commit to the heart and mind of pilgrimage in the midst of our everyday lives. It all depends on allowing the seeds of truth, of change, of greater knowing within us blooming and pushing away the embedded old habits our lives can become as they grow

What would it be like to go to the grocery store as a pilgrim?
— as one who is open to a journey where the sacred is revealed in surprising ways.

There is a longing deep within each of us that wants to walk away from what shrinks us into the sacred air of what grows us and gives us joy.

We are discovering that the commitment to a pilgrimage is what initiates surprising sweet revelations and allows for the casting away of the old comforts that insulate us from the rich Life we really are.

What part of your life today might you approach as a pilgrim?

We’d love hear your answer.  Please share your response below.

Our Pilgrimage Has Already Begun

Our Pilgrimage Has Already Begun

Some would say heading off on a pilgrimage and shutting down for a period of time is a little bit crazy. However, we’ll be doing just that. We are leaving behind our connection to clients, home, all the momentum and trappings of our lives in order to stay honest to the soulful truth that we each are.

The bells of San Miguel are joyously clanging in the background filling the air with their reminder of the comfort and beauty of where we live. And yet, their bell song reminds us to stop, drop and pray so that a greater presence of love and grace can prevail in each of our lives.

Our pilgrimage has already begun.

We and our dear friend Dwight Konrad who will be journeying with us, are each stepping toward the rich pathway of what’s next in each of our lives.

The perfect truth is, we do not know who we will be, or what will follow after having walked the sacred pathways of England and Scotland. All we know is that it’s time to cast away the old molds, no matter how beautifully created, that hold us in ancient limitation.

Each of you, and happily most of you, are aware that every one of us is on a pilgrimage of our own creation. So, perhaps you’ll dance with us in these rich questions.

No matter how beautiful, no matter how comfortable, no matter how much investment, is the creation of my life truly serving the song of my heart?

Or as we heard someone say recently, “If I really followed my heart then my life would change, so would my family, my marriage, maybe even my career.  I’m too scared to change even though I really want to, so I’ll just stay the same.”

If the song in your heart is on loud and the comfort you’ve felt is no longer satisfying, what might you lay down so that you can step into the calling of your life?

To be continued…..

Love, David, Susan and Dwight
